N. LAPIDUS, CPA
Neil
is our Firm’s Administrative Partner and a member of our Firm’s
Partnership Committee. He specializes in the management of our most
complex audit engagements, litigation services, and litigation support.
He joined the Firm in 1978 after four years with a national public
accounting firm. During his career, he has gained substantial experience
in financial analysis of both local and multi-national companies.
Neil is also in charge of our Firm’s Litigation Support Department
and has extensive trial testimony experience and experience in evaluating
damages relating to contract matters, lost profits, personal injury, intellectual property and relationships between companies.
Neil
is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of
Science Business Degree in Accounting. He has served as an adjunct
faculty member at the University of Minnesota, North Hennepin Community
College, Metropolitan State University, Building Owners and Managers
Association, and Hennepin County Vocational Institute. He taught
beginning to advanced accounting and related courses in cost accounting
and auditing. He received the Outstanding Teacher of the Year award
from Metropolitan State University and was recently awarded the
Leading Edge Alliance Innovation and Leadership Award. Additionally,
he co-authored a text on real estate accounting for the Building
Owners and Managers Association. He is an expert in financial analysis.
Neil
is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Society of Certified
Public Accountants. He was appointed by Governor Pawlenty to the Minnesota State Board of Accountancy and is currently Chairman. He is also on the Alumni Advisory Board of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and also participates in their Mentorship Program. He is also a member of the Licensing Executives Society. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant
in the states of Kansas, Minnesota, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin. He has served on various
committees including Ethics, AICPA Commodity Futures and has co-authored
a manual on accounting principles. Additionally, Neil has been named
to the American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Neutrals.
