FARLEY S. KAUFMANN, CPA

Farley has been a member of the Firm’s Partnership Committee since November 1992 and served as the Firm’s Managing Partner from 1994 - 2007. He is the leader of the Firm’s Medical Services Division, and specializes in representing closely held business clients, professional services clients, professional athletes, and high net worth individuals.

 

After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction from the University of Minnesota in 1977, Farley joined the Firm in October of that year.  He possesses extensive accounting, tax, and consulting experience in issues related to compensation, practice valuation, buy/sell agreements, business continuation, mergers and acquisitions, employee benefits, and cash basis vs. accrual accounting.

 

Farley is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of CPAs, the Medical Group Managers Association, the Minnesota Medical Group Managers Association, the National Health Lawyers Association, and the Group (a high level national group of professionals that meet at least semi-annually to discuss current trends in healthcare, qualified plans, estate and income tax issues as well as other current topics). His community activities include serving as a member of the Board of Regents of St. Mary’s University of Minnesota School of Graduate and Professional Programs, Board of Directors of the Children’s Cancer Research Fund, Talmud Torah, and of the Angel Foundation, where he also serves as the Treasurer.  During his career, Farley has also served on the International Hearing Foundation, Hobey Baker committee, the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, CPA Associates, and The Leading Edge Alliance Board of Directors.

 

Farley has shared his wealth of experience through extensive participation and engagement with members of the business community and with other organizations including the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas School of Law.  He is a frequent lecturer and presenter as an expert in his field.
